EU Exit Workshop Series: Supply Chain and Logistics

Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) is running a series of virtual workshops to help business prepare for the end of the transition period and leaving the EU on 31 December 2020.

In the first event in the series, we will discuss Supply Chain and Logistics. You will hear from specialist advisors on topics such as the impact of the Northern Ireland Protocol on the transport and flow of goods, and the actions you can take now to prepare. You will also have the opportunity to ask your questions in a live Q&A session with the speakers, and book one-to-one meeting appointments with business advisors.

Speakers

The workshop, hosted by Donal Durkan, Executive Director of Strategy at Invest NI, features Ronan McDonnell from The Logistics Consultants, who will talk about the logistical changes you can expect following EU Exit. You will also hear from Mike McGrath of Arvo Consulting, who will advise on the way forward for NI Businesses to minimise disruption to your supply chain.

One-to-One Appointments with Advisors

You will have the opportunity to meet with advisors for pre-booked one-to-one 15 minute appointments. Each are specialists in their fields and will offer advice and guidance, tailored to the needs of your business.

The Brexit Advisory service offers information and support for cross border trader through voucher funding, digital content, a tariff checker, glossary of key Brexit terminology, research, networking and information events.

Frank Dunsmuir, Shanker Singham and Kevin Shakepeare, Trader Support Service

An overview of the new Trader Support Service, supporting traders with customs procedures for GB to NI trade.

Claire McCaffray and Michelle Armstrong, PWC

PWC specialise in EU Exit readiness strategies including advice on customs, tariffs, scenario planning and indirect tax.

Mike McGrath, Arvo Consulting

Advice in relation to supply chain and strategic sourcing techniques to reduce the costs and risks associated with the UK exit from the EU.

Ronan McDonnell, Alan Fox and Vera Murphy, The Logistics Consultants

Specialising in all aspects of logistics and supply chain management. Can provide advice in relation to various transport modes, transport routes, import/export procedures and inventory management.

Gareth Walls and Jonathan Simpson, A&L Goodbody

Providing employment law advice and guidance to businesses on EEA worker rights and employer visa sponsorship advice.

Appointments are scheduled to run every 15 minutes from 11.15 until 13.00. Depending on demand, these meetings may be extended until 16:00.
