Transport

Bus and Trains - Translink is the main provider of public transport in Northern Ireland. Download their Translink Access Guide for information on how to use their services if you have a disability or find using transport difficult.

Taxis - Many taxi providers can provide wheelchair-friendly accessible vehicles when requested.

Airports - Both George Best Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport can provide assistance to visitors if required. This includes help with checking in, going though security, boarding the aircraft and collecting your baggage.

Mobility Scooter and Wheelchair Hire

Belfast has plenty of accessible sights and wheelchair-friendly attractions to discover.

You can also borrow a wheelchair when visiting some of Belfast’s top attractions including Titanic BelfastCrumlin Road Gaol and Ulster Museum.  Please contact the venue in advance to book a wheelchair on your preferred date.

Disabled Parking

There are a large number of accessible on-street disabled car parking spaces available throughout Belfast City Centre for Blue Badge holders.

A number of car parks also have disabled car parking spaces including Belfast City Council managed car parksCastleCourt shopping centre, Victoria Square shopping centre, Titanic Belfast and SSE Arena Belfast.

Accessible Toilets

Belfast City Council manages public toilets in Belfast. You can view a list and map of disabled toilets at www.belfastcity.gov.uk/publictoilets.

Information about Belfast visitor attractions, hotels, restaurants, bars, shops and public buildings which provide accessible toilets can be accessed on the AccessAble website.

CastleCourt shopping centre and Victoria Square shopping centre also feature Changing Places facilities with fully accessible toilets for people with profound disabilities. The facilities are wheelchair accessible and offer a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench, a ceiling track hoist, and plenty of space for carers.
